Iowa Sen. Tom Harkin would like to see minimum wage raised as the cost of living increases.

According to Sen. Harkin’s blog, in a press conference, he and California Rep. George Miller announced legislation that would gradually raise the federal minimum wage from the current $7.25 per hour, to $10.10 per hour.

They would also like to raise the federal minimum wage for tipped workers, which is  $2.13 currently.

More than 30 million workers would get a raise if Harkin’s plan passes.
