The Great American Treasure Hunt came to Rock Island in search of rare and unique items.

The Great American Treasure Hunt made a visit to Rock Island in search of rare and unique items.

According to owner, Matthew Enright, the group is a touring road show that travels around North America buying rare antiques.

Anyone with old or unique items could visit The Great American Treasure Hunt at the Holiday Inn in Rock Island and trade their merchandise for cash.

An emphasis is placed on gold and silver jewelry, military items, toys and trains, coins, pocket and wrist watches, and musical instruments. They ended up with several rare guitars including an old hollow body Gibson.

“Everybody has an item or two that they are curious about its value,” said The Great American Treasure Hunt President, Anthony Enright. “This event is a great place to find out what it’s worth and sell it on the spot if you choose.”
