The Niabi Zoo is recruiting a new group of Junior Zookeepers.
The Junior Zookeeper program is for teens considering a career in biological or environmental sciences. Participants will meet other teens with similar interests and have the opportunity to volunteer at Niabi Zoo during the summer.
Junior Zookeepers attend a camp to learn about zoo animals and the mission of conservation. They will also get to meet some of the animals up close.
After camp graduation, Junior Zookeepers fill volunteer positions as zoo hosts, petting zoo guides and exhibit educators.
The program is available to students from age 14 to 17.
Interested teens must complete an application and submit a letter of reference from a teacher. Applications must be postmarked by Monday, April 15, 2013.
