Hail To The Chief: Snow Moving In Again Early Next Week

James Zahara Weather Blog

Great!!  That gives my back a chance to recover for the next several days.  Hate shoveling wet snow!

Check this out.  The EURO, GFS and GEM (which I have here) have another round of accumulating snow that will enter from the Northern Plains and then race through portions of Iowa into the northern half of Illinois.  This should arrive later Monday and continue through most of Tuesday.  We still have several days until I could give a good fix as to how much we could possibly see locally but for now, the models look to drop several inches around the area.

My concern with this system comes from the surface low associated with it.  There are some signs that a secondary low may develop just to its south about the time of its arrival.  This could allow the system to reorganize and thus, have an impact on depleting or shutting off the snowfall.  So  many variables to be thrown into the equation.  I’ll keep an eye on it.  For spring lovers out there, I found spring and its on the calendar!  Meteorological Spring begins on Friday!!!
