The Davenport Public Works Department is retracing its steps Wednesday because of the early morning snowfall.

The department put 30 ice trucks back on the main thoroughfares because of the small snow shower Wednesday. DPW says it has just five crews still on the residential streets.

The city has 14 different zones in town, so there is still a lot of snow on many of the residential streets. Many drivers need to park on the odd side of the street Wednesday according to house numbers, but that only applies if they are on a "non-snow route"

Davenport Public Works is on two 12 hour shifts Wednesday, and the next shift starts at 10 a.m.  The city should have another 35 snow plows out later in the day.

The city also offers the Snow Angel Program for elderly and disabled residents who can't plow their driveways. For more information on the program, click here.
