Colona man killed when snowmobile overturns
A Colona, Illinois man died after the snowmobile he was driving overturned and landed on top of him.
Police said the snowmobile was eastbound on 12th Avenue North just west of 193rd Street North in Rock Island County when the driver lost control and hit a ditch just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013.
The snowmobile overturned and landed on top of the 36-year-old man who was driving.
The driver was taken to an area hospital but died of his injuries.
The driver’s name was not yet released.
