A fifth-grade teacher was facing a criminal charge after police said a threatening note she found turned out to be fake.

Black Hawk Elementary School, 2804 S. 14th Street in Burlington, Iowa, was locked down Friday, February 15, 2013 after Lauren Moyers told school officials she found the note in a hallway of the school.

The note reportedly said, “shooting 1:45 my dad, Blackhawk.”

The school was locked down and police were called just before 1 p.m.

Moyers was accused of later changing her account of where she found the note.

Online court records show Moyers was arrested that same date and charged with one misdemeanor count of false report to law enforcement authorities.

Moyers was released after posting bond.   The school district put her on paid administrative leave until the investigation was complete.
