Some area schools held classes while many others dismissed early or cancelled altogether for Tuesday’s snow storm.

There was no snow day Tuesday for kids in Moline and Rock Island school districts, as well as at United Township High School.  All three left it up to parents to decide whether they wanted to keep their kids home or take them out of school early with an excused absence.

Moline administrators said they don’t have a lot of students who have to take the bus, and they think cancelling or dismissing early is tough for working parents who may have a hard time making arrangements for child care.

That said, it’s often a “darned if you do, darned if you don’t” decision.

Parents, including some debating the topic on our Facebook page, expressed mixed opinions about whether classes should have been held or cancelled.
