Air conditioner stolen from local school

Police say they hope someone can help them find out who stole the central air conditioner from St. Paul Lutheran School in Moline.

The theft happened during the overnight hours Saturday night, February 9, 2013.  The entire air conditioner was removed from its base at the northeast corner of the school at 153 19th Avenue.

Police said a truck or van would have been need to remove the air conditioner.  They said the unit was possibly stolen to be reused somewhere else.

The unit is valued at about $6,000.
