Winds that sometimes gusted over 50 miles per hour brought a noisy night and some damage to the Quad Cities area.
WQAD viewer Don Davis shared a photo of a tree he says fell on a car in Rock Island because of the strong winds.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Sunday night, February 10 until 3 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 for most counties in the area. A wind advisory means winds of 30 miles per hour or greater are expected.
Winds remained sustained at 25 to 35 miles per hour with 40 to 50 mile-per-hour gusts.
Travel was especially difficult for lightweight and high-profile vehicles. The wind also caused snow to blow and drift along the Highway 20 corridor north of the Quad Cities.
