The body of an Illinois high school athletic director was found in his wrecked car after he was reported missing Saturday, February 9, 2013.

Scheidegger reportedly attended the girls IHSA state bowling tournament in Rockford, Illinois over the weekend.

Carroll County authorities got a report that Scheidegger was missing just after 11 p.m. Saturday.  Their search for him led deputies to find Scheidegger’s car wrecked north of Mt. Carroll.

Investigators said Scheidegger’s car was northbound on Loran Road when it left the road, drove over a steep embankment and overturned.

Scheidegger was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Scheidegger lived in Orland Park and also had a residence at Lake Carroll.
