Illinois Governor Pat Quinn visited Colona, Illinois to help announce more jobs at Tennant Truck Lines.

In August of 2012, the company moved into its new headquarters on 550th Street in Colona. The company moved out of its Orion family farmhouse back then, and now the company has added another 67 jobs because of its expansion.

The new headquarters cost nearly $4 million to build. The company hired 47 new drivers, three new mechanics, and 17 new office positions.

Governor Quinn visited the new facility in Colona at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate the expansion.

"For a 21-year-old, to be able to see the country and make some money, it's a good career," Vice President Todd Stoner said. "It certainly is a great place to start if nothing else."

The starting salary for the new truck drivers is $50,000 a year.  The company had previously expected to create just 50 jobs with the new expansion.  The company believes it could hire another 40 to 50 workers by the end of this year.
