Companies in the Quad Cities area are reportedly being solicited to buy advertising on River Bandits posters and broadcasters from a phony company.

The company, called Sports Schedules, is reportedly posing as having a relationship with the River Bandits or with Minor League Baseball when it tries to sell advertising on schedule posters and air time on select cable networks.

“Please be advised that no such company is authorized by either the River Bandits or the national Association of Professional Baseball Leagues to sell any advertising or produce any posters with team schedules,” said the team’s media relations manager Marco LaNave.

He recommends contacting the River Bandits at (563) 324-3000 or the attorney general in your state if you are contacted by such a company.

“The front office staff of the Quad Cities River Bandits are the only individuals selling advertisement in the River Bandits’ ballpark, as well as advertising in publications, pocket schedules, promotional material or any other items associated with the Quad Cities River Bandits baseball club,” LaNave said.
