Arrest made in Burlington robbery and beating case

Police said they made an arrest in connection with a case in which three people beat a man and stole his wallet last Thanksgiving weekend in Burlington, Iowa.

The victim, who is a Burlington resident, was reportedly attacked as he walked in the 500 block of South Central Avenue when he was attacked by three men at about midnight Sunday, November 25, 2013.

Police said the victim fell to the ground after being punched in the face, and then he was continuously punched and kicked.  The three suspects reportedly stole the victim’s wallet.

Deandre Goode, 23, of Burlington, was arrested February 1, 2013 in connection with the case.  Goode was charged with felony second-degree robbery.

Goode was held in the Des Moines County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
