Controversy swirled around a St. Louis pastor after she questioned the amount of a restaurant tip versus tithing in church.

A photo of an Applebee’s restaurant receipt shows the 18% tip amount crossed out, and a hand-written note that reads, “I give God 10% why do you get 18.”

KTVI reports the pastor said a photo of the receipt, circulating online, doesn’t tell the whole story.  She said she and others at her table left cash tips, and that her credit card was also charged for the tip amount.

The pastor said she realizes she used poor judgment by writing the remark and that she has been harassed because of the incident.  She said her ministry does good work and that she would never want to tarnish Christianity.
