A Scott County, Iowa sheriff’s deputy narrowly missed being hit by a vehicle that crashed into his patrol car.

The wreck happened during the snow storm that pushed through the Quad Cities area Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013.

A statement from the Iowa State Patrol said the deputy was parked on the shoulder as he investigated a wreck along southbound Highway 61 just south of Long Grove, Iowa.  While the deputy was out of his car, the driver of another southbound vehicle reportedly lost control and crashed into the patrol car.

No injuries were reported.
