Some students got an experience that’s out of this world. Putnam Museum was awarded the honor of being one of the six venues across the country to host a call from space.

20 Students got the chance to ask astronauts from Expedition 34, Commander Kevin Ford and flight engineer Tom Marshburn, who are currently on board the International Space Station questions. The chat was displayed on a huge giant screen for all to see.  Its part of Putnam’s new space exhibit, Destination Space.

Students like Alexus Wiese say it’s an experience she’ll never forget, “It was amazing to do and you got to see people above earth. It was something that everybody should be able to have the chance to do."

Students were able to see an astronaut spacesuit on display as well as other astronaut equipment.
