Iowa man is finalist for prestigious sports award

An Iowa man who uses his feet to compete in archery is one of four finalists vying to become World Archery’s Athlete of the Year.

Matthew Stutzman of Fairfield, Iowa won a silver medal in last year’s Paralympic Games.  Stutzman was born without arms, and shoots his bow with his feet.

Stutzman is one of two U.S. athletes on the lists of finalists.  Reo Wilde of Pocatello, Idaho is also a finalist.  Mariana Avitia of Mexico and Elias Malave of Venezuela are also finalists.

Voting to select the World Archery Federation Athlete of the year is open to the public.  The poll is posted on their Facebook page – click here.

Voting closes January 26, 2013.
