A man accused of breaking into a Clinton, Iowa book store was reportedly found hiding inside a wall of the building.

Police said they were sent to investigate an alarm call before dawn to the 18 and Beyond book store at 135 Fifth Avenue South on Monday, January 21, 2013.

Their search led investigators to find Derek Scheper, 25, of Clinton, hiding inside a wall of the book store building.

Scheper was charged with burglary, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was held in the Clinton County Jail.

Fulton Police Lt. Donnie Pridemore said Scheper was recently arrested there for burglary as well.  Court records show Scheper was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage to property January 2, 2013 in Whiteside County.  Scheper was free after posting 10% of the $5,000 bond for that case January 10, and his trial had been set for March 12, 2013.
