An ongoing investigation ended when emergency workers were sent to clear a suspected meth lab at a home in East Moline, Illinois.

An ongoing investigation ended when emergency workers were sent to clear a suspected meth lab at a home in East Moline, Illinois.

Police responded to the home in the 1100 block of 45th Avenue just before 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

Crews wearing protective gear were continuing to clear items from the home more than two hours later.  Quad City MEG, East Moline and Illinois State police investigators worked the scene.

"The production of methamphetamine can be dangerous and leave toxic chemicals that must be disposed of properly by trained law enforcement agents," said East Moline Police Lt. Darren Gault.

Gault said police arrested 24-year-old Evan Douglas Peterson in connection with the case.  Peterson was charged with participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material and methamphetamine delivery.  He was held in the Rock Island County Jail.
