Hobby Lobby and Sam’s Club could be coming over the river to Moline. In Rock Island it’s already been arranged for a Wal-Mart to be built.
With all of these big corporate stores coming, how do people living in the area feel about it?
"I hope they bring it on and get building,” says Dorene Vannatta.
"I'm excited I think that it will be a lot more traffic on John Deere Rd when I’m going to work, but the convenience of it will be worth it,” says Denise Lane.
Right now the closest Hobby Lobby and Sam’s Club are in Davenport. Less travel is one reason why residents hope they come here.
"Can't wait. I go over to hobby lobby all the time, we go to Sam’s all the time, it will be so nice to have on this side of the river,” says Vannatta.
"I'm thrilled there's going to be a Sam’s club in Moline because I usually drive over to the one in Davenport,” says Donna Knudtson.
For them, all they will have to do is drive up the street.
"It’s right at the bottom of our hill, both of them, so it will be great,” says Vannatta.
Neighbors also think more businesses will help out economically, "I think it will be good for the employment of Illinois people,” says Lane.
"I think it would be good for our city and I think we need businesses on this side of the river,” says Knudtson.
With business popping up, people in the area hope more will follow, “It will be fun to see what else follow and comes this way,” says Vannatta.
