Trinity Lutheran School shared part of a grant it received to buy a comfort dog to help victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Trinity Lutheran School in Davenport, Iowa was one of 18 schools in the country to share $1 million granted through a fund raising campaign conducted by US Cellular.  Trinity Lutheran received $50,000 and dedicated 10% of the money to charity.

The rest of the money is earmarked to pay for the installation of air conditioning at the school at 1122 West Central Park Avenue in Davenport.

Their donation will help provide a comfort dog to help victims recovering from Superstorm Sandy in the eastern United States.  Lutheran Church Charities and Comfort Dog Ministries will arrange to place a comfort dog at a school hit hard by the storm.

Trinity Lutheran students have seen the positive effects of a comfort dog thanks to their own dog, Gracie.
