Widespread flu activity prompted Trinity Regional Health System to enact temporary restrictions on people who visit their Quad Cities-area campuses.
The restrictions were issued Friday, January 11, 2012 and wil remain in place until further notice.
“Trinity enacted these policies this afternoon upon recommendations from the Illinois Department of Public Health,” said Erin Lounsberry, Trinity’s Public Relations Manager.
Under the restrictions, visitors should not visit Trinity facilities if they are ill with upper-respiratory symptoms. If you have such symptoms and must visit, you will be required to wear a mask.
Children under 18, including patient siblings, should not visit according to the restrictions. Trinity is also restricting patients to having no more than two visitors at a time.
In addition, the policy says patients in isolation for influenza will only be allowed visits from “persons who are necessary for the patient’s emotional well-being and care.”
Trinity Regional Health System includes hospital facilities in Moline and Rock Island in Illinois, and in Bettendorf and Muscatine in Iowa.
