Police say a string of burglaries in five area cities are probably connected and involve the same suspect or suspects.
Most of the burglaries involved breaking into unlocked garages, vehicles and homes.
About 70 burglaries were reported in five cities since the crime wave started in December. Thirty of the burglaries happened in a three-day time period in Altona.
Other burglaries were reported in Galva, LaFayette, Henderson and Knoxville.
Police say they have good leads in their ongoing investigation. Bottom line, they say, is residents should always lock doors and windows to cars, garages and homes.
