Police said a homeless man used a handgun to rob the Jimmy John’s sandwich shop in Galesburg.
Nathaniel McPherrin, 29, allegedly went into the Jimmy John’s at 235 E. Main Street just before 9 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013. McPherrin reportedly displayed a handgun and demanded money from an employee in the store.
Police said McPherrin was captured and arrested a short time later.
McPherrin is charged with aggravated armed robbery. He was held in the Knox County Jail where he was awaiting his initial appearance in court.
