An Eldridge, Iowa man accused in December of sexual abuse is now facing a federal charge of producing child pornography.
James Edward Hall was charged December 6, 2012 with five counts of sexual abuse and one count of sexual exploitation of a child. A complaint filed by police alleged Hall, 74, had ongoing sexual contact with a 16-year-old.
Hall was released after spending less than two hours in the Scott County Jail when he posted ten percent of the required $52,000 bond.
A spokesperson for U.S. Attorney Nicholas Klinefeldt said Hall was arrested January 2, 2013 on a federal criminal complaint accusing him of producing child pornography involving a juvenile male victim. There was no indication whether or not the victim was the same person in the federal and local cases.
A preliminary hearing and detention hearing were scheduled in the case for Friday, January 4, 2013.
