Police: Oswego man drove 99 mph on I-88

Police say they stopped a man for traveling more than 30 miles per hour over the posted speed limit on Interstate 88 in Whiteside County.

Police say they stopped a man for traveling more than 30 miles per hour over the posted speed limit on Interstate 88 in Whiteside County.

Information from the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office published January 1, 2013 said Timothy Wodzisz, 18, of Oswego, Illinois was stopped just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 as he traveled in Interstate 88 at mile post 13, near the Whiteside County/Rock Island County border.

Wodzisz was arrested for allegedly driving 99 miles per hour and for operating vehicle with an expired registration sticker.  The speed limit is 65 miles per hour on that stretch of I-88.

Wodzisz will be required by law to appear in court to face the charges at a later date.
