The City of Silvis has reported 11 water main breaks in the city since November 2012.
There was a report of a water main break at 1130 12th Street Thursday morning. According to a press release, a boil order was issued for those residents living in that area. Repairs crews were quickly dispatched to the area and were able to fix the break within 2 hours. Crews on the scene said no boil order was issued to residents living in the area, despite earlier reports.
On Wednesday, a water main break was reported at 261 5th Street in Silvis. Door tags explaining the water main break and boil order was delivered to all households involved.
