A Central Iowa woman has been arrested for allegedly working alongside her three juvenile children to shoplift from a department store.

Melissa Sego of Boone is charged with aggravated theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Sego was arrested over the weekend at a J.C. Penney when staff reported she and her three daughters tried leaving the store with merchandise hidden in purses.

Court documents also say Sego tried to physically force her way past employees.

Police say the foursome acted together to steal the items.

The three girls have been charged with fifth degree theft and their case is being handled by the juvenile court.
