Davenport Police have arrested a man that started a house fire early Christmas morning.
Ryan Eckstein of Davenport is being held in the Scott County Jail. He faces a felony charge of arson and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault.
Fire crews responded to the 72-hundred block of Kelling Street just before three in the morning for a structure fire and a disturbance call. Fire officials investigated the fire and now believe it was deliberately set. The reason for why Eckstein did it is unknown at this time. Eckstein lived there with a woman and two children.
Fire damage has left the house unlivable. The Red Cross has stepped in to assist the woman and the two children.
