Two people reportedly tried, but apparently failed, to rob the Pilot truck stop in Atalissa, Iowa.

The two suspects were reportedly wearing masks and scarves to hide their identities when they demanded money from store employees at the Pilot store at 2086 Atalissa Road just after 5:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012.   Both suspects were armed with hand guns.

Police said the suspects did not get any money or merchandise before they fled.  They were last seen driving away from the store in a white full-size regular-cab Chevy or GMC-style pickup truck.  The truck had a tool box in the bed behind the cab and box rails on both sides.  There was also a large antenna on the cab of the truck.

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery attempt should contact the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office at (563) 886-2121.
