School shooting continues to impact communities everywhere
People in Des Moines gathered to show their support after more than 20 people, many of whom included children, died Friday after a gunman entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT and opened fire.
They gathered at the state capitol to talk about what happened and to honor the victims.
The vigil was organized by the national group, moveon.org
It encouraged people from all over the U.S. to hold a candlelit vigil in their community to mourn the victims and call for strict gun control.
