Bettendorf counselor and school team leader Shelley Klaas offers information to parents on helping their children understand and cope with tragedy.
Klaas, who has been a school counselor for 27 years, was among the top six finalists out of 270 counselors nominated for School Counselor of the Year award from the American School Counselor Association. Klaas is a counselor at Neil Armstrong Elementary in Bettendorf, Iowa.
