Composite drawing released of bank robbery suspect

Police have released a composite drawing of a man they say robbed the 1st Community Bank in Sherrard, Illinois.

The robbery was reported just after 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012.  The suspect reportedly told the bank teller he had a gun when he demanded money.  He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.  No injuries were reported.

Mercer County Sheriff’s Office Detective William Glancey said the suspect was described as a light-skinned black man who is about 25 years old.  The suspect is between 5-feet 9-inches and 6-feet tall with a thin build.  He may also have had an earring in his left ear.

The suspect was reportedly seen leaving the area of the bank in a greenish blue small- or medium-sized four-door sedan.
