On Friday, November 30th, 2012, a Rock Island restaurant became the first in Rock Island County to install video gambling machines.

City Limits Saloon and Grill turned on its five new machines around 5:00pm Friday and they immediately had players.

"I've had people in all day waiting to play and, to tell you the truth, they're all new faces so that's the fun part about it," says Owner, Bob Anderson.

The Illinois Gaming Board reports 714 machines brought in more than $346,000 in revenue in October and $70,000 for local governments.

The state is hoping the revenue turns into billions of dollars to fix schools, roads, and bridges.

And with more turning on every day, that revenue should -- and is expected - to keep going up.

However, Anderson says it's not necessarily about the amount of money, but about the amount of people stopping by and sitting down for a chance to win big.

He says he's expecting his machines to be very successful, especially with several upcoming new developments going up nearby, including the Walmart on 11th Street next year.
