The former treasurer of the Donahue Sportsmen’s Club faces a felony theft charge after about $27,000 of the club’s funds vanished.

Kris Oetzmann, 38, of Donahue, Iowa was arrested November 21, 2012 after an investigation that lasted about two months.  The investigation started after the Scott County Sheriff’s Department received a complaint that money was missing from the Donahue Sportsmen’s Club. 

Oetzmann was the club’s treasurer from January 31 to September 18, 2012.  He is accused of misappropriating about $27,000 of the club’s money during that time.

Oetzmann was arrested when he surrendered to the sheriff’s department November 21.  He was charged with one count of first-degree felony theft. 

Oetzmann was free on $10,000 bond.  His next court appearance was set for December 20, 2012.
