Demolition of an abandoned Rock Island house was halted for a short time Monday when a backhoe tipped over.
The accident happened just after 9 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at a house under demolition near 19th Street and 6th Avenue in Rock Island, Illinois.
As the backhoe was used to help tear down the abandoned home, a section of the home’s floor reportedly collapsed. That’s when the backhoe tipped over, striking a neighboring house.
Damage to the neighboring home was minimal. No injuries were reported.
The backhoe was upright and demolition work resumed by about 11 a.m.
