Bettendorf grad suspended from University of Iowa wrestling

A wrestler from Bettendorf is one of two University of Iowa students arrested for allegedly hunting rabbits on campus.

Connor Ryan, 18, of Bettendorf, and Alex Meyer, 18, of Pleasant Hill, were arrested by University of Iowa campus police Tuesday, November 20, 2012. 

The two freshmen are accused of using BB guns and air rifles to illegally hunt rabbits on campus.

Ryan graduated from Bettendorf High School.  He wrestles at the 141/149 weights.

Meyer graduated from Southeast Polk High School. He won a state championship his senior year in high school. He wrestles at the 174 weight.

The University of Iowa Athletics Department said Ryan and Meyer have been suspended indefinitely.  The pair also face disciplinary action at the university.
