Illinois AG Warns About Holiday Shopping Deals

Attorney General releases new holiday shopping guide

CHICAGO, Illinois - The Illinois Attorney General is sending a warning to shoppers: beware of resale stores and internet sales this holiday season.

Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office is offering a guide warning people to be careful of the gifts they buy secondhand at garage sales or online.

She says some items may have already been recalled like the "Bumbo child seat" which lacks a proper restraint system... and magnetic "Bucky Balls" that are easy for a child to swallow...

This year's guide also includes warnings about the foods you might eat.

"We need to keep informed of food recalls if we need to stay safe," said Madigan.

"There have been 300 recalls in last month, 107 food items recalled."

You can find the guide online at illinoisattorneygeneral.gov.
