Muscatine men sentenced for dealing meth

Two Muscatine, Iowa men were each sentenced to more than eight years in prison for distributing methamphetamine.

Two Muscatine, Iowa men were each sentenced to more than eight years in prison for distributing methamphetamine.

Mark Eugene Ball, 28, was sentenced to 105 months (eight years and nine months) in prison.  Jorge Carrango-Valencia, 29, was sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Both men were convicted of working with others to manufacture methamphetamine from February 2009 to February 2012. 

“Ball distributed significant quantities of methamphetamine to multiple customers in both Illinois and Iowa over the course of the conspiracy,” said a spokesman for U.S. Attorney Nicholas Klinefeldt. 

“Carrango-Valencia personally distributed over 30 kilograms of methamphetamine of the course of the conspiracy,” the spokesman said.  Carrango-Valencia also directed others to pick up and deliver meth in the Muscatine area.

Both men were sentenced November 16, 2012.
