A man from Buffalo, Iowa was killed when the truck he was driving crashed early Saturday morning, November 17, 2012.
The crash was reported at about 1 a.m.
Police said Jacob O’Connell, 24, drove south on 70th Avenue and then eastbound after 70th Avenue turned into 112th Street in southwest Scott County between Buffalo and Blue Grass.
As the truck he was driving came out of that curve, it crossed the road and went into the ditch along the north side of 112th Street.
Police said the truck traveled a few hundred feet. It struck a tree and overturned, landing upside down.
Police said Jacob O’Connell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
