The Rock Island Economic Growth Corporation was awarded $100,000 Friday from Wells Fargo to continue its work to revitalize of a struggling neighborhood.

The New Old Chicago Redevelopment Subdivision, which includes the 600 block of 10th St. in Rock Island, is home to 4 new houses and one that it was completely renovated all a part of the efforts to improve the neighborhood.
The GROWTH Corporation received some help from Wells Fargo to the tune of $100,000 as a part of the “Leading the Way Home” program.  This is the second year in a row that this neighborhood was picked for the nationwide initiative.

President of Wells Fargo in the Quad Cities, John Stavnes says, “This is us saying, this is well worth the bet. If this helps one or two families find their way in to a beautiful home, it was well worth it.”

This Sunday, November 18 the five new GROWTH homes will be spotlighted in an open house from 1 to 3 PM.
