The city of Davenport will take the next step in its $46 million dollar plan to purchase the Rhythm City Casino. The city will travel to Johnston, Iowa to meet with the Iowa Racing and Gaming Thursday.
The Iowa gaming officials will hear the city’s plans to purchase Rhythm City Casino in a meeting at 8:30 am in Johnston. The Racing and Gaming Commission must approve of the proposal before the sale can go through.
The director of the Riverboat Development Authority says the meeting is an important step towards a land-based city-owned casino in Davenport. The R.D.A has yet to approve of the city’s plan.
