Ag in the AM: Soybean Yields Higher

Iowa and Illinois farmers are producing more soybeans per acre than estimated last month.

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Iowa and Illinois farmers are harvesting more soybeans than first thought. 

The latest crop report just out shows Illinois soybean farmers are harvesting four added bushels an acre that projected last month.

Iowa farmers are harvest a bushel an acre more.

In Iowa, the average yield is 44-bushels per acre, down more than seven percent from last year.

In Illinois, the yield is 43-bushels per acre. That's off 11-percent from a year ago.

Iowa is expected to harvest 409 million acres of soybeans, 31-million more acres than in Illinois.
