Man sentenced after being busted in QC-area internet sting

A man who thought he was traveling from Moline, Illinois to Clinton, Iowa to meet a 13-year-old girl was actually busted in a sting that landed him in prison.

A man who thought he was traveling from Moline, Illinois to Clinton, Iowa to meet a 13-year-old girl was actually busted in a sting that landed him in prison.

Robert Andrew Larson, 30, of Cozad, Nebraska will spend 87 months in prison after pleading guilty to traveling across state lines for the purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activities with a minor.  Larson was sentenced in federal court in Davenport, Iowa on November 8, 2012.

Larson had sexually explicit internet chats with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl for several days in February 2012.  On February 16, he traveled from a hotel in Moline, Illinois to Clinton, Iowa to meet the girl for sex.

Instead, he was met by police who arrested him.

In addition to his prison sentence, Larson was ordered to serve five years of supervised release and pay $100 towards the Crime Victim Fund.
