A series of public meetings starts in Moline to show how and when passenger rail can expand between Chicago and the Quad Cities.

The Illinois Department of Transportation planned three public meetings at which they will present the study schedule for the proposed rail service that would deliver two round trips per day between Chicago and the Quad Cities.   Stops along the route would include LaGrange, Naperville, Plano, Mendota, Princeton and Geneseo.

The plan includes new train stations proposed for Moline and Geneseo.

In addition to the study schedule, IDOT officials will explain the process and opportunities to get involved in the project.  They’ll also take questions and input from stakeholders, including residents impacted by the project.

The open house meetings can be attended any time between 4 and 7 p.m. on the meeting dates, with formal presentations given at 4:30 and 6 p.m. during each meeting.
