More workers from Iowa-based Rockwell Collins will lose their jobs as the company cuts its workforce in response to reductions in federal military spending.

Bloomberg Businessweek reports 250 workers have already been given notices, and an additional 1,000 will lose their jobs in the fiscal year that ends next September.

Bloomberg reports the company, based in Cedar Rapids, had already cut about 800 jobs in the past 12 months.

Other defense contractors are also cutting jobs in preparation for defense cuts that are part of the U.S. deficit-cutting process called sequestration.
