Chase follows hit-and-run involving corrections vehicle

Police said they had to chase a man after the vehicle he drove rear-ended a prison vehicle in Davenport, Iowa.

Brian Millard, 22, allegedly struck a Department of Corrections vehicle at the intersection of Third and Brady streets at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Police said the DOC vehicle then followed Millard until he ditched his vehicle near 13th and Arlington.  Millard then ran on foot but was caught by Davenport Police and a DOC officer.

Millard faces seven misdemeanor counts in connection with the crash and pursuit.  He was charged with failing to maintain an assured distance, driving while revoked, driving under suspension, driving while barred, leaving the scene of an accident, no insurance and reckless driving.

Millard was held in the Scott County Jail in lieu of $4,500 bond.
