Police: Suspect confessed to more than a dozen burglaries

Burlington Police said a man arrested  near a burglary scene later admitted to other crimes including three burglaries at churches.

Dustin Albright, 24, was reportedly caught walking at about 2:30 a.m. in an area where two burglaries were reported early Monday morning, October 29, 2012.  Police said they think Albright burglarized Big Muddy’s Restaurant at 710 Front Street and The Drake Restaurant at 106 Washington Street.

When police interviewed Albright about the restaurant burglaries, he allegedly admitted to being involved in at least eleven other burglaries that happened in the Burlington area in October.

Albright was initially charged with two felony counts of third-degree burglary, and he was held in the Des Moines County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash-only bond.

On Monday, October 29, police said they got nine more arrest warrants for Albright.  Those warrants were connected to October burglaries at Hopefully Yours, Big River Popcorn Company, Moto’s Cafe, Grace United Methodist Church, foursquare Gospel Church, Los Charros Restaurant, Billups Tire and Muffler, St. John Baptist Church and Steve’s Place Tavern. 

At last check Albright was held in the Des Moines CountyJail in lieu of $65,000 bond.
