A 37-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man and a woman injured in Burlington, Iowa.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of South Tenth Street.  It was reported just after 3 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2012. 

Police said a man and a woman were shot.  The woman was treated and released from an area hospital.  The male victim was hospitalized and later transferred to an Iowa City hospital.

Police said shortly after they received the emergency call about the shooting, they arrested Jermaine Laevelle Carr in the 500 block of Elm Street.

Carr was initially charged with felony willful injury and felony intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Carr was held in the Des Moines County Jail.  He was expected to make his first appearance in court Monday, October 22.
